Activated Charcoal and Coconut Oil Toothpaste

Ingredients:

  • Activated Charcoal: 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Coconut Oil: 2 Tablespoons
  • Peppermint Essential Oil: 20-25 drops
  • Aluminum Free Baking Soda: 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Packet of Raw Stevia

This is a great toothpaste alternative! The activated charcoal and baking soda help whiten and clean the teeth while the coconut oil is antifungal and antibacterial. The peppermint essential oil and stevia are optional, but I like it because it leaves my mouth minty fresh feeling. The pups love the way it smells, too! Although I’m not sure if it’s suitable for dogs to use, they couldn’t get enough of smelling the air as I was dropping the peppermint essential oil into the concoction. The one packet of stevia lends that little extra sweetness that I love so much from traditional toothpaste without those nasty chemicals or excess sugar. Since the toothpaste is black (from the activated charcoal), yes it will turn your mouth black momentarily until you rinse it out, but the charcoal does wonders with lifting the stains off of your teeth. Your teeth will be pearly white after you brush a few times! Give it a try for an all natural tooth cleanser!
